WOK WAKA RESTAURANT REVIEW
WOK WAKA
Wok.Sushi.Thai
I usually never order Sushi as a main course meal. Most of the time I'd like to consider it as a snack or appetizer. I went to Wok Waka to try it out and get that experience.
They basically deal with Thai and Japanese food. Now you might think that these are the same but they're completely different from one another with very little in common, although they both make use of noodles and rice in their dishes but that's where their similarities begin and end.
It was my first time there so I only had Sushi, I'll definitely go again to try more of their dishes. Below is a highlight of which Sushi I ate.

WHAT DID I EAT?
Chizi Roll: it's a spicy roll containing cream cheese and avocado, drizzled with spicy mayo and sprinkled with pieces of tempura crisps. It comes with a choice of either tuna or tempura. For those who may not know, tempura is a Japanese dish made by deep frying seafood or vegetables in a light crispy batter. It was accompanied by soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger. Their flavors and natural properties make it perfect for eating Sushi. They basically compliment the Sushi.
I decided to go with the tempura choice because the light and crispy texture of tempura adds a delicious contrast to the Sushi roll. I'll emphasize on the cream cheese, it added a creamy and smooth texture, it's a tasty twist to traditional Sushi, I loved it. The spicy mayo added a spicy kick that enhanced the flavor of the Sushi. I love love love avocadoes, to me, the avocado in the Sushi added a creamy and buttery taste that compliments all the other ingredients. The tempura crisps were placed on the side, they added crunchiness that elevated my dish. A 9/10.
I am yet to try other types so we'll see if that changes as time goes! 😂
WHAT DID I DRINK?
Wakazaga: this is a signature drink made by Wok Waka. It's more of a spicy drink, it was extra refreshing. I took the passion flavor (the yellow one). It was a perfect blend of heat and flavor that added an exciting kick to my taste buds. Highly recommended!
OVERVIEW
The service was really good, the staff were kind, friendly and attentive. They made sure to serve me as soon as they could without compromising quality.
The food was delicious, the Sushi was mouth watering and it had me wanting more. I'm so excited for everyone who will be trying out their Sushi. For anyone who will be trying Sushi for the first time, don't be alarmed about the temperature of the Sushi, it's meant to be served at a cool or room temperature in order to be enjoyed fresh and flavorful!
The rest of their menu is on their Instagram page: @wokwakatz. They're usually closed on MONDAYS but open from 1PM during the rest of the week.
Location: 471 Haile Selassie Rd, Dar es Salaam
