THAI KANI RESTAURANT REVIEW

 THAI KANI:

Thai & Sushi with a modern Twist

I'm pretty sure you can guess what type of food they serve just from their name: "Thai". It's one of the best spots in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania if you're looking for Thai and Sushi. Apart from that, they're located right next to the ocean- good food with an even better view!

I was initially attracted by the ambience because I'm a beach and green ( trees ) girl which is literally what the place is surrounded with, so of course I was drawn in. Little did I know I'd enjoy their food as well, the way the flavors burst inside my mouth needs to be studied!

Keep scrolling to find out what my friend and I ate. Let's EAAAAATTT!

WHAT DID WE EAT?
Well we both ordered prawn fried rice. I had my first prawn fried rice at Thai Kani and I wouldn't have it any other way. The prawn fried rice was accompanied with tomatoes, cucumbers, and topped with coriander. The portion was very reasonable, I wasn't able to finish it because it was a lot- for me, I was happy about that because I love it when food is money's worth ( spending money on food that I didn't like is literally so painful ).

We also got avocado rolls. It was my first time trying it. I'm a big fan of avocado by the way, it just goes with EVERYTHING. An avocado roll is a type of sushi, just incase you were wondering. It's basically seasoned sushi rice spread out on nori seaweed sheets, filled with avocado. It was definitely a new experience for me and I'd give it a 7/10, one extra point because it's healthy.

Visual representation of the Prawn fried rice and avocado roll. Literally looks so good even in a picture. Give it a try if you haven't!

WHAT DID WE DRINK?
My favorite part is usually the refreshments because I genuinely can't eat without a drink on the side. So for drinks, I got a strawberry daiquiri and my friend got herself a cocktail which goes by the name- long island iced tea.
I'm not a fan of strawberry but this drink was IT! I enjoyed it, it tasted exactly as I pictured it; sweet but not TOO sweet. I'd give it a 9/10.

HOW WAS MY MEAL?
The prawn fried rice was definitely a nice try out for me, I usually get nauseous but the lemon and cucumbers really helped out. Of course their food would be great because they literally specialize in Thai food + Sushi. I'd give it a 9/10 in all honesty.

WHAT DID OUR MEAL COST?
Our fried rice cost us 28,000tsh EACH. The avocado roll cost 20,000sth. The strawberry daquiri cost 8,000sth and long island iced tea cost 15,000tsh. So basically the final bill was 71,000tsh. Their menu is also available on the website: https://www.thaikani.com/menu.html

OVERVIEW
Our meal was perfect, the service was impeccable and second to none, and we got value for money.

They usually have special offers as well, visit https://www.thaikani.com/  for more.

If you're ever looking for a place that's next to the ocean- offering a good view with good Thai and Sushi- you already know WHERE TO GO!
