AVO RESTO RESTAURANT REVIEW

 AVO RESTO:

Chilled spot for dine-in or takeaway

Literally my all time fave spot! I've been to Avo Resto quite a number of times and one thing's for sure- I will never get enough of that place.
It's such a beautiful and cozy space, the comfortability while eating is top tier.

Here's a little secret, from me to you: they have the BEST tacos, hands down. If you're ever craving tacos and don't have an idea of where to get them from, you know where to now! No excuses :)

I'll list down all the foods I've had and hopefully you'll head over and give it a try too, a taste of heaven in your MOUTH.

Keep scrolling to find out what I had. Let's EAAAAATTT!
(got some pictures from their website)

WHAT DID I EAT?
As said previously, I've been there a number of times so I've gotten the opportunity to try out some of their foods, from their menu which is so VAST by the way! Come along!
On my first time being there, I ordered: half BBQ grilled chicken. I was accompanied by my friends who also got: an espetada, a chicken shawarma and an avo's pizza. Fast forward to the next time I went there, I had tacos and seafood espetada.

Half BBQ Chicken: this is basically peri peri chicken served with spicy garlic sesame chips. As my dad's daughter, I literally can't eat without having that chilli flavor, so this was pretty much the best option for me, considering that both the chips and chicken comprised of chilli. I really enjoyed my food, the portion served was definitely massive for me (I had left overs). The sauces that accompanied the food made it 10x better, it really complimented the food well. The chicken was tender, so it was easier to eat it. The chips had just the right amount of salt, garlic and spice.

Espetada:
we got the espetada which can either be a beef espetada or chicken espetada. It's basically marinated boneless chicken or beef on a skewer served with French fries and dipping sauce. In other words, we, Tanzanians, call it MISHKAKI. It was well presented and I loved the whole idea of the espetada, the fact that the sauce from the skewer literally drips down on your plate? 10/10!

Chicken Shawarma: if you know me, you know I LOVE chicken, so I was happy to try this one. It's marinated char grilled chicken served with chips and garlic sesame sauce. It's just two pieces but they're definitely satisfying and filling. Once again, their sauce is just "chef's kisses" and it complimented the shawarma's ingredients.  I'd give it a 9/10.

Tacos: (both; chicken and beef tacos). As I said in the beginning, literally the BEST tacos. They're served with guacamole, jalapeno, Mexican tomato salsa, sour cream and grated cheese. Let's just start with the presentation- so beautiful. Next, the FILLING- a hand full for sure! I was so happy because it came with cheese and EXTRA cheese. The fact that it was topped with an avocado made me squeal with delight because: one, I love avocadoes and two, the restaurant's name pretty much matches. I could eat their tacos all day everyday. 100/100

Seafood espetada: this is marinated prawns, calamari and fish on a skewer served with French fries and dipping sauce. My favorite part was having calamari on the skewer, it felt so right in every aspect. Very satisfyingly delicious! It had some veggies as well in between, amazing, amazing, amazing!

WHAT DID I DRINK?
I'll combine all the drinks I've had when I visited Avo Resto. I've had the Pina Colada and Cappuccino, as seen below.

Pina Colada: this was a pineapple juice with coconut milk, syrup and ice. The coconut milk part might discourage you but I promise, it's an amazing drink, it was pretty heavy but it had the right amount of texture to it, I loved it!

Cappuccino: I'm not a coffee fan so this was a very INTENSE experience because of the strong coffee flavor followed by a creamier milky sweetness, the biscuit definitely helped!

HOW WAS MY MEAL?
Every time I ordered something new, their food never ceased to amaze me, from the food itself, to the sauces- everything. I'm really insisting on the tacos though, they're amazing and definitely worth trying on any day, please get yourself some avo tacos. Trust me, you need them.

WHAT DID THE MEAL COST?
The half BBQ chicken cost 16,000tsh. The chicken/beef espetada cost 21,000tsh. The chicken shawarma cost 16,000tsh. The tacos cost 21,000tsh. The seafood espetada cost 29,000tsh.
As for the drinks; the Pina colada cost 12,000tsh. The cappuccino cost 5,500tsh.
Their menu is also available on their website with other special offers.

OVERVIEW
Overall, everything was nice. The meals are perfect and their portions are massive and satisfying. Their staff is friendly and kind.

Their service is a bit slow but the food is worth the wait for sure. And of course, I got value for money.

They open at 11AM-12AM on Mondays-Fridays. And 9AM-12AM on Saturdays-Sundays.

Location: Ali bin said road, near NMB Bank, Oysterbay
